Butterzopf or Bärner Züpfe is the traditional, brioche-like Swiss Sunday Bread that is characterized by a shiny, golden surface and a delicious buttery, soft crumb. Nothing quite evokes warm, wonderful childhood memories as this rich, festive bread. The process is incredibly therapeutic and very satisfying as the dough comes together. Traditionally Züpfe is made by simply crossing and twisting two long strands, but today we will demonstrate that by paying attention to just a little extra detail, we will create an even more beautiful and elegant masterpiece.
